Events were also held in Paris and Singapore on the same day, but in London we were privileged to have the company of G’Vine’s creator and Master Distiller Jean-Sébastien Robicquet to introduce his new gin to us.

I’d tasted G’Vine while in the USA a year or so ago, and it’s definitely a gin with a difference. It’s distilled from grapes not grain, which gives it a wonderfully smooth taste. It’s also made in Cognac in France, using the ugni blanc grapes that produce the finest cognac. This grape variety isn’t good for wine, but when handled right they do produce the most amazing spirits.

It used to be that the only spirit you would find around the lovely little town of Cognac was, of course, cognac. But as well as being the home of G’Vine, it’s also well-known as the home of Grey Goose Vodka. Those are prestigious names for a town with a population of less than 20,000. Spirits are big in the local economy!

The evening at Nobu was great fun. By coincidence we’d been there a few weeks earlier for a private dinner. The food was everything you’d expect from Nobu, and for the G’Vine launch the canapés were superb, zinging with freshness and flavors. Tuna with caviar and truffle oil was out of this world.

The cocktails were impressive too. We were greeted with a G’Vine Nouaison take on a Negroni, and a Divinus cocktail created by David Rios, who was the 2013 world’s best bartender.

Singapore, November 24, 2017 – G’Vine officially launched its newest gin, Nouaison, in Singapore, London and Paris. Intensely aromatic, yet smooth and round, Nouaison gin by G’Vine is crafted from distilled grapes and aims to shake up the industry with its innovative expression of the grape elegance combined with a complex and spicy profile.

Nouaison Gin by G’Vine was launched at Atlas Bar in Singapore the Nobu Shoreditch in London and the Tiger Bar in Paris. Nobu Shoreditch bartender, Luca Di Patrivi, Tiger bartender, Paul Brussel, and ATLAS Head Bartender, Roman Foltan, all created their own Nouaison gin by G’Vine cocktails that were served at the exclusive launch events.

ATLAS Bar was this year voted number 15 in World’s Best Bars, making it the highest new entry of 2017 and Bar of the Year (Asia) in the DRiNK Magazine Bar Awards 2017.

Nouaison reflects the traditional unconventional DNA of G’Vine by presenting itself as a new G’Vine alternative, deeply rooted in the bartending environment to enhance classic cocktails playing in an underground chic universe, deeply rooted in the bartending environment to enhance classic cocktails.

Crafted by Master Distiller and creator of G-Vine gin de France, Jean-Sébastien Robicquet,
nouaison, meaning ‘setting’, represents the metamorphosis stage of the star ingredient, the grape, from aromatic vine flower to luscious grape berry. Framed by the grape smoothness, rich and intense, with 45% ABV, Nouaison Gin by G’Vine explores a large flavour palette evoking hitherto unseen aromas such as sandalwood, bergamot, prune and vetiveria.

The rich aromatic profile of Nouaison Gin by G’Vine is particularly highlighted in classic cocktails such as the Negroni à la française, or in new creations like the Divinus from David Rios (2013 world best bartender).

Nouaison by G’Vine is crafted in France from grapes, combined with 14 botanicals that are carefully selected. The final distillation in small batch is also unique. Using a discontinuous 25HL pot still inspired from traditional Charente style shape to blend harmoniously all the components and obtain unique Gin.

You can buy Nouaison Gin and other spirits from G’Vine at Drizly and at Master of Malt.
